Agency Future

Just came back from an interesting presentation by Aaron Bateman (not related to Justine) exploring emerging business models in a changing advertising landscape. Aaron mentioned a few case studies, but one that stuck and struck was Converse Domaination, by Anomaly in NYC. Perhaps ad man Jon Bond, summarizes it best, Marketing in the future is like sex. Only the losers will have to pay for it.

The Museum of Unnatural History in D.C. features quirky and imaginative specimens designed by the talented Oliver Munday. (I'd like to eat some primordial soup and smell a unicorn burp). Lovely.

Super Mamika

French photographer Sacha Goldberger, formerly a creative director, turned his 91 year-old grandma into a superhero. Looking to cheer her up, Goldberg suggested they work together to create a unique persona, Super Mamika, and a series of beautifully art directed and irreverent photographs. Checkout Mamika's MySpace profile and over 2,000 friends. (The chicken sidekick photos on MySpace are also superb). Great project.
